1. Who we are

Dotlumo (the “App”) is developed and published by Tendanto Ltd, a private limited company registered in England & Wales (company no. 17481182), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Tendanto Ltd is the data controller for this policy.

This policy covers the Dotlumo app for Android. It is version 1.0.

2. In short

No account is needed; we never ask for your name, email or phone number.

The sign texts you type, your favorites, your lists and your history are stored only on your device; they are never sent to us or to advertisers.

Videos, images and GIFs you make of your sign are made on your device; they leave it only if you share them or save them to your gallery.

The free version shows a Google AdMob banner at the bottom of the editor, never during the full-screen show of your sign; after a video export finishes, a full-screen ad may occasionally appear too. Google collects some data from your device for ads (section 5).

Pro is a one-time purchase paid through Google Play. We use RevenueCat, with a pseudonymous id that does not contain your name, to verify which devices have Pro.

3. Information stored on your device

Your sign message, display settings, favorites, lists and (if turned on) show history are kept in the App’s storage on your device. You can turn the history off or delete it in Library › History; uninstalling the App deletes everything.

If Android’s automatic backup is on, the operating system may include this data in the backup in your own Google account; we have no access to it (Settings › Google › Backup).

4. Video, image and GIF export

When you turn your sign into an MP4 video, an image (PNG) or a GIF, the file is made on your device; neither we nor any other service see it. The file first sits in the App’s temporary storage, where older files are deleted automatically.

If you tap Share, the file goes only to the app you choose, under that app’s own privacy rules. If you tap Save to gallery, a video is written to your phone’s Movies › Dotlumo folder and an image or a GIF to Pictures › Dotlumo, where, like your other photos and videos, apps you have given media access can see it. No permission is asked for this, and we never access any other file in your gallery.

In the free version a video or an image carries a small “Dotlumo” mark in the corner.

5. Ads (Google AdMob)

The free version shows one banner ad below the editor. After a video export finishes, a full-screen ad may also appear: never after your first video, then at most once per session and once every 30 minutes, always with a close button.

Ads are served by Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). To show, measure and cap ads and to prevent fraud, Google collects and processes your advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version), ad interactions and diagnostics. Details: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks for your consent to personalized ads; you can change your choice at any time with “Ad privacy options” at the bottom of the App’s Display tab. If you do not consent, you see only limited ads.

In Turkey the App asks Google for non-personalized ads only.

You can delete or reset your advertising ID in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads. Ad content is limited to the PG rating, and video ads start muted.

For Pro users the ad component is never started: no ad requests and no ad data.

6. Pro purchase (Google Play and RevenueCat)

Payment is handled by Google Play; we never see your card details.

To verify the purchase and restore Pro on your devices we use RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), which receives a pseudonymous app user id (it does not contain your name), the purchase receipt and history, the platform and the app version, and never your name or email. RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf. Details: revenuecat.com/privacy

A refunded purchase removes Pro.

7. Remote settings file

So that the ad space can be switched off without an update, the App downloads a small settings file from tendanto.com. No information about you is sent with it. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical request data (such as IP address and time) and keeps it for a limited period under its own policies.

8. Permissions

The App uses internet and network state (ads, purchases, the settings file), the advertising ID and Android’s ad services (free version, for ads only; added by Google’s ad library), Google Play billing, keeping the screen awake and a foreground service (so the screen stays on during the show, and as the ad library requires; the App does not run in the background). None of them is a permission you are asked to grant.

The App never asks for the camera, the microphone, your location (GPS), your contacts, or access to your photos, videos or files. Saving a video, an image or a GIF to the gallery needs no permission.

9. Battery and temperature

While the show is open, the App reads the phone’s battery level, charging state, battery-saver setting and the thermal status the operating system reports, only to throttle the show by itself (turning the glow off, lowering the brightness). This information never leaves your device and is not stored.

10. Content from other apps, and backups

Text you share or select in another app, a link you open with the App and a backup file are processed only on your device.

Backup in the Library writes your favorites, lists and history to a file; that file goes only where you choose.

11. Who receives data

Google (AdMob): advertising ID, approximate location, device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostics, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud, under Google’s own policy.

Google Play: your purchase, for payment and refunds.

RevenueCat (our processor): a pseudonymous user id that does not contain your name, and your purchase history, to verify and restore Pro.

We do not sell your data. Your sign texts never go to any recipient.

12. Storage on and access to your device

The App stores or reads on your device: your signs and settings (favorites, lists, history), to make the App work, and they never leave the device; your ad consent record (Google’s consent tool, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), to remember your choice; the ad component (Google AdMob, free version only), meaning the advertising ID and the ad library’s own records, in the EEA and the UK according to your consent; the RevenueCat id, to verify your Pro purchase, which is needed for the service you asked for; and the remote settings cache and the full-screen ad counter, which hold no identifiers (the counter is written only while that ad is on and deleted when you buy Pro).

13. International transfers

Google and RevenueCat may process data in other countries, including the United States. Transfers from the UK and the EU rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses those companies use.

14. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

15. If you email us

If you contact us for support, we use your email address and message only to answer your request, on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you. We keep the correspondence for up to two years after your request is resolved, then delete it.

16. Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Users in the EU have the same rights under the GDPR and may complain to the supervisory authority in their country.

For any request, including deleting purchase records held by RevenueCat, email hi@tendanto.com. We will respond within one month. For ad data you can also use Google’s tools (deleting your advertising ID, the consent settings).

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We would appreciate the chance to help first: hi@tendanto.com.

17. Changes

If we add a feature that changes how data is processed, we will update this policy before that version is released and show the new date at the top of this page.
